This monthly webinar takes place between 6 and 7.30pm.
We have three presenters: Vanessa Colman, Mike Stylianou and Matthew Selman who will talk about how they use hypnotic techniques with children in the pre-op room, A & E and more generally with anxiety and pain.
Vanessa will talk about how she uses hypnosis to help children with anxiety, Matt will look at how he uses hypnotic techniques with children with cancer or excess weight and Mike will share some of the techniques and strategies that he uses and teaches in helping children overcome procedure induced anxieties, many of these approaches whilst common, and rooted in the world of hypnosis, do not always require the “trance state “ commonly associated with hypnosis and altered states of consciousness.
Aim:
To explore how one can use hypnotic techniques with children.
Learning Objectives:
1.To understand how hypnotic approaches need to be tailored when working with children
2.To explore how hypnotic techniques can be used in different contexts with children
3.To explore some hypnotic strategies to use with children with anxiety and pain
