Learning Outcomes: By the end of Module 1 we will have demonstrated how to:

1. explain hypnosis to a patient/client and deal with any misconceptions
2. understand and use effective language in interactions
3. induce hypnosis and use simple suggestion to help manage anxiety and aid patient wellbeing
4. use & teach self-hypnosis for relaxation
5. identify relevant ethical and professional issues in the use of hypnosis in clinical practice

Ideal for clinicians beginning their hypnotic training, this module builds the essential framework and confidence to progress to more advanced techniques.

NB: Students should only apply clinical hypnosis in contexts where they are already qualified to work with the presenting issue, independent of hypnosis.

This course is aimed at teaching the basics that health professionals can integrate into their existing clinical work.

As a safe-guard for clients / patients, we will only train health care professionals who are eligible for membership of BSCAH.
