This monthly webinar takes place between 6 and 7.30pm.
Bruce Grimley will be presenting this webinar.
About this webinar:
The aim of this webinar is to help people understand that there is a division of Sports and Exercise Psychology within the British Psychology Society which regularly publishes peer reviewed literature, and that many psychologists make a living applying psychology within this domain that can be enhanced by hypnosis. Bruce will demonstrate, with the use of case histories, how he uses hypnosis within this domain of sports psychology.
The first part will take attendees through how a typical sports psychologist may intervene using psychology.
The second part will show how hypnosis can extend the effectiveness of psychological techniques and why.
The final part will provide 2 case histories and also describe how Bruce applied self-hypnosis in order to achieve a bronze medal in the European Duathlon Championships this year and then followed this up with a 4th place (out of 19), in the World Duathlon Championships, 2 months later.

Aim: To show how hypnosis can be used within the field of sports psychology and to stimulate further ideas of how attendees themselves, may creatively enhance the application of psychological techniques using hypnosis.
Learning objectives:
Understand and raise awareness of the Division of Sports and Exercise Psychology and the work of Psychologists in Sport.
Understand how hypnosis can enhance psychological interventions in this domain.
Bruce Grimley is a chartered occupational psychologist and registered with the HCPC. His area of specialisation throughout supervision and chartership was ‘The individual’ and one to one work. He is registered as a senior practitioner on the British Psychological Society, (BPS), Register of Psychologists specialising in Psychotherapy. In the 1990’s such a register did not exist and the BPS advised Bruce he should join a member organisation of the UKCP if he wished to practice psychotherapy and this is what he did. He joined the NLPtCA and then became involved with Neurolinguistic Programming. (NLP). He has written 2 books on the use of NLP in one-to-one work and 9 chapters as well as countless academic papers in the peer reviewed literature. His PhD asked the question “What is NLP?” the results of which were published in the International Coaching Psychology Review.
NB: Students should only treat with clinical hypnosis those conditions that they are qualified to treat without hypnosis change it to: NB: Students should only apply clinical hypnosis in contexts where they are already qualified to work with the presenting issue, independent of hypnosis.
