This monthly webinar takes place between 6 and 7.30pm.
We have two presenters, Sara Llewellyn and Mara Sheldon, together with contributions from Gill Smith and Ann Williamson

Aim: The aim of this webinar is to explore how Long Covid affects people and how hypnosis can be integrated into the management of Long Covid

Learning Objectives:
1. To understand how Long Covid affects people in various ways
2. To understand how hypnotic strategies can be integrated into the management of Long Covid.
2. To discuss specific hypnotic strategies that might be used

About this webinar: This webinar introduces some personal experiences of Long Covid and then will explore how hypnosis can be utilized in its management. Mara will talk about using hypnosis in conjunction and as an adjunct with her OT interventions (to reinforce rehabilitative discussions, support recovery through metaphor and address the trauma from living with illness and challenges re-integrating back into life).

Sara Llewellyn is an integrative psychotherapist working both online and in person from her village home in Middle England. She has had a diverse career path and blends her training experience as a Counselling Psychologist, with a Person Centered base,  a Creative Therapist using her training in Natalie Rogers Creative Connection techniques (PCEAT), a Counselling Supervisor, a Clinical Hypnotist (BSCAH), Therapeutic Shamanic Practitioner,  a Nursery Nurse, and she is HLTA certified to teach within Primary Schools. Sara utilises all her experience within her therapeutic private practice offering bespoke therapy for individuals, couples and families. Her therapeutic areas of specialism include complex trauma, domestic abuse, CSA, autism and relationships. She also works extensively in the Foster Care sector with children, adults and families.
Though work keeps her very busy she makes time for nature and wild swimming which are her passions.  Nature is a very important connection for Sara and her work often follows seasons and includes natural elements.  She occasionally runs a series of seasonal workshops where time allows focusing on a variety of therapeutic themes.

Mara Sheldon is an occupational therapist specialising in palliative care and symptom management; including breathlessness, anxiety and fatigue. In addition to working for Addenbrookes hospital in the Cambridge Breathlessness Intervention Service, she also runs an independent practice where she specialises in support for people living with Long Covid/Post Covid symptoms. In 2013 she gained a postgraduate diploma in clinical and medical hypnosis from the British Society for Clinical Hypnosis, and she has been an accredited member of BSCAH since 2014.
Mara is keen to strengthen healthcare professionals’ awareness of the intricate connections between mind and body, and how a holistic approach to treatments and interventions can promote and support health and wellbeing. She enjoys sharing her knowledge and has run training events for over 30 years.
